Kirk C. Doyle  - Chairman of the Board
SureWest Communications and its subsidiaries
Kirk Doyle joined the board in August 2000. He succeeded his father, the late Thomas E. Doyle, as chairman in 2003. He is an ex-officio member of the Nominating and Governance Committee. Kirk has also worked in the real estate business for over 30 years and has owned and operated Kirk Doyle Realty for more than 25 years. Additionally, he serves as chairman of Granite Community Bank and serves on the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Board of Directors. As chairman of the annual JDRF Golf Tournament, Kirk helps raise nearly $100,000 a year for JDRF through the event.

A former president of the Roseville Kiwanis Club, Kirk has also served as director of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Sacramento.

Steven C. Oldham  - President and Chief Executive Officer
Steven Oldham became president and CEO of SureWest Communications on January 1, 2006. He joined the Board in January 2004 and was chair of the Audit Committee from June 2004 until December 2005. He was previously a senior advisor to The Brattle Group, and also served in many capacities during his 26-year career with Sierra Pacific Resources, before retiring in 2003 as its senior vice president, energy services.

Oldham began his career with Sierra Pacific Resources in 1976 and thereafter held various positions with increasing responsibility including serving as senior vice president, strategic planning from 1999 to 2001 and as vice president, strategic planning from 1997 to 1999 and vice president, treasurer from 1994 to 1997.

He earned a B.S. degree in accounting in 1976 from the University of Utah. Oldham also spent three years in the electronic intelligence gathering agency of the United States Army on the Shemya, Alaska Army Base prior to attending college in 1972. He currently serves as vice chairman for the United States Telecom Association, whose 18 members represent over 800 companies across the U.S.

Guy R. Gibson  - Board Member
Guy Gibson joined the Board in 2003 and is a member of the Compensation and Nominating and Governance Committees. A lifelong resident of Roseville, California, he is a partner in the Roseville law firm of Gibson & Gibson. Gibson has been very active in community affairs, having served on the Roseville City School District Board of Education and two different city commissions, in addition to serving as president of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce in 1998.

Bob D. Kittredge  - Board Member
Bob Kittredge joined the Board in 2005 and is chair of the Audit Committee. In 2004, after 35 years of service, he retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers, most recently serving as managing partner of the Sacramento, California office where he oversaw the practices in accounting, auditing, taxation and consulting. Kittredge is a member of both the American Institute and California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is a past president of the Sacramento Chapter of the California Society of CPAs. In addition to his professional activities, he has served as the president or board member for numerous charitable and not-for-profit organizations in the Sacramento region.

John R. Roberts III  - Board Member
John Roberts joined the Board in 1993, and is chair of the Compensation Committee and a member of its Audit Committee, and is a Board member of the SureWest Political Action Committee. He is executive director of The Natomas Basin Conservancy, and was formerly the CEO of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO).

Timothy D. Taron  - Board Member
Timothy Taron joined the Board in November 2000. He is chair of SureWest's Nominating and Governance Committee, a member of the Compensation Committee and president of the Political Action Committee Board. He has served in leadership positions in numerous non-profit community organizations, including as a member of the board of directors and president of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. He is a senior partner in the Sacramento law firm of Hefner, Stark & Marois, LLP.

Roger J. Valine  - Board Member
Roger Valine joined the Board in 2004. He is a member of the Audit and Nominating and Governance Committees and is a Board member of the SureWest Political Action Committee. He served as president and CEO of Vision Service Plan (VSP), headquartered in Sacramento, California, from 1992 to 2006. Mr. Valine joined VSP in 1973 and worked his way up the executive ranks, ultimately serving as vice president of sales, senior vice president and then president of VSP subsidiaries. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of DaVita Inc. and American Specialty Health.
