NETWORK NOTIFICATION OF NEW SERVICE OR REVISION:
This document is notification of the future offering
of Nokia equipped ADSL, IDSL and SDSL high speed data service.
REASON:
This will be new equipment for ADSL, IDSL and SDSL services
and interconnection. The installation of the equipment will commence at
specified locations in January, 2001.
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR INTERCONNECTION:
- The DSL end-user must be located within 17,500 feet of a SureWest Telephone enabled DSLAM site. (IDSL can use standard ISDN repeaters
to extend it's reach to approximately 24,000 feet)
- The line must be qualified to carry the DSL signal.
- DSL requires a compatible modem at the customer location. This modem
must be compatible with the DSLAM equipment.
- A NIC (Network Interface Card) or other compatible interface is required
in the customer computer.
- An Internet Service Provider must be selected. This ISP must be connected
to the SureWest Telephone DSL Network.
- Existing access line terminated at customer site. *
* IDSL and SDSL signaling do not allow for concurrent
voice and data transfer on the same line. No splitter is necessary at
the customer premise for these services. No analog voice service is available
on these lines.
