2001 Update
NETWORK NOTIFICATION OF NEW SERVICE OR REVISION:
This document is notification of the offering of Nokia
equipped ADSL, and SDSL high speed data service.
REASON:
This will be new equipment for ADSL, services and interconnection.
The equipment will be generally available after January 8, 2001.
This will be new equipment for SDSL services and interconnection.
The installation of the equipment will commence at specified locations
in February, 2001.
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR INTERCONNECTION:
- The DSL end-user must be located within 17,500 feet of a SureWest Telephone enabled DSLAM site. The line must be qualified to
carry the DSL signal.
- DSL requires a compatible modem at the customer location. This modem
must be compatible with the DSLAM equipment.
- A NIC (Network Interface Card) or other compatible interface is required
in the customer computer.
- An Internet Service Provider must be selected. This ISP must be connected
to the SureWest Telephone DSL Network.
- Existing access line terminated at customer site. *
* SDSL signaling does not allow for concurrent voice
and data transfer on the same line. No splitter is necessary at the customer
premise for these services. No telephone service is available on these
lines.
